Charles Mehling

Based in Paris but raised in Southern California, Charles Mehling is a director and photographer with roots steeped deeply in the music world. Early on he played and toured with various bands, including the infamous Brian Jonestown Massacre, the band featured in Dig, the 2004 Sundance Documentary Grand Jury Prize winner. So it's no surprise a rock and roll edge resonates throughout his work. Since his debut music video for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Mehling has gone on to collaborate with musical acts as diverse as The Rolling Stones, Kasabian, Keith Urban, Rihanna, and many others. On the commercial side, Mehling is known for fashion and lifestyle work for brands such as Fenty, David Yurman, Budweiser, Hugo Boss, Smart Water, Jo Malone, Rimmel, Macy's, and many more. Uniquely poised to work as a free agent in most regions, the ability to work directly with client, agencies or production companies has allowed him to collaborate with a broad array of global talent on various diverse and innovative projects.
